PROMENADE DECK (DECK 10)

Camryn sat at a patio outside her favorite Greek restaurant with a plate of Gyro with Tzatziki sauce and a lot of feta cheese in front of her. Despite being lightyears away from home, they kept their authenticity. On her hand was her PADD that she lightly scrolled through. It contained report notes and her personal thoughts. Picking up her glass of red liquid, she sipped it. During the course of about a week, she worked nonstop, attending repairs and investigating rumors caused by the Zynari. Not many people liked them. Zynari acted according to their childlike personalities.

The repair work she did on that coffee machine several decks below performed well. Though, she may have tweaked it abiet too much. Then there was that Vulcan Soprano glitch in the holodeck that gave her a headache and a sore thumb.

It was Teevs' mission to try all of the food places on the Promenade. Normally, he'd go with Kerilia, but she was in school and he could use a break. With all the strange things the Zynari were doing and being a consultant on this species, it was exhausting. There was a place he had been meaning to try out, something with mention of a place called "Greek" in the title. It was still fascinating to him that there were so many different varieties of food on one starship, and even a wide variety from Earth.

When he glanced inside, he looked around to get an idea of its popularity. It seemed to be fairly busy, which was a good sign. Walking up to one of the menus on display outside the restaurant, he glanced at it, trying to translate what everything was in his head. It proved a challenge, however, since most of the words seemed made up. If there was one thing he learned being on board, it was to not be afraid to ask for help. So he looked around and spotted someone at one of the patio tables. "Forgive my intrusion," Teevs said, approaching the table with an apologetic smile. "Could I get your help with the menu? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with... well, many of the words."

Cam took a few moments looking up from her PADD to look. She smiled, "Sure." Brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear, she thought he looked familar. Somewhat. She'd been busy behind the scenes maintaining the ships systems, making sure she runs well, but not enough socializing. She didn't have time. Putting down the PADD, she offered a hand toward another chair, replying, "I'm sorry. I don't get out much. I'm Camryn. Who are you? I think I've seen you around."

"Teevs Dosivi," he answered with a smile. He accepted the seat offered to him. "I've been helping the Elysium navigate the area." There were many people he had seen across the ship, but the ship was massive, and the officers were sometimes busy, so he didn't always get the chance to meet everyone.

She almost responded but closed her mouth as her waiter came over to check out their table. Placing his hands behind his back, Charles inquired, "Everything okay, Cam?"

"Uhhh," Cam zipped her mouth closed and exhaled, shaking her head, "I'm good, thanks Charles."

He nodded, turning his attention to Teevs, "Would you like anything, sir?"

"I'm not quite sure yet," Teevs responded to the waiter. "What do people usually have here?"

"Food," Cam remarked, shrugging. She smiled, "Kidding. I like Gyro, feta cheese. Tzakiti sauce. They sell Greek food here. They might have some fresh grape leaves. They stuff them with rice and meat. I tend to avoid the replicated ones, so I'm hoping the chef still grows them fresh."

"I can try those," Teevs spoke up, when she mentioned the grape leaves. Meat and rice was a classic staple, so he was curious how the leaves changed the flavour. He looked to the waiter with a polite smile and added, "And a water would be perfect too, please."

Cam nodded, waving at the waiter. He nodded, leaving to get them food as she took a brief look over her padd while sipping her drink. Looking at him briefly, she inquired, "So, how long have you been onboard? I think I read the mission brief somewhere."

"Shortly after the ship got stuck in this galasy," Teevs responded. "My vessel got damaged while I was acquiring materials in a scrapyard, and your vessel saved us from falling into a planet's gravity well. I offered to provide knowledge of the area and help open trades with my people if your vessel could take us home."

Cam nodded, "I think i remember the mission. What is your home like?"

Teevs took a second to think of an answer. "Niea IV is a planet with a single continent, which already makes it fairly unique. The red star gives everything a golden glow as light filters through the atmosphere. My birth town is Jekasp, on the east side of the continent. From there you can see the Spectral Mountains and its multiple colours." He then gave her a smile, "I'm not sure if words can do it justice."

Cam smiled, nodding. Placing her Padd down, the hybrid El Aurian took a sip of her drink, replying, "Tell me more about the mountains. What kind of food do you eat there? Any sights to see?" As they talked, the waiter delivered their food and drink.

"I think the Spectral Mountains are one of my favourite places to go," Teevs answered, nodding his thanks to the waiter. "Geologically, the mountains formed when the supercontinent came together, about 80 million years ago. It came from river deposits into an ocean that has since disappeared, so you can find river and ocean fossils." He picked up one of the leaf-wrapped things and inspected it. "As for food, there's a lot of variety. Seafood is common in coastal towns. Jekasp is known for a particular meat stew called kareesh. In Pomei, the capital city, you can find food from other species in the quadrant. As for sights, let's see..."

Cam quietly listened to him as the waiter brought back their food. She let her mind wander a bit while imagining what his world is like. After about a few minutes, she nodded replying, taking a sip of her drink, "I should head back to shift. It was nice meeting you. I'll see you around."
