Emily’s first real time enjoying making love with Zac was more magical than she’d ever expected, after an abusive childhood she’d never expected to ever enjoy being touched, or made love to. With Zac that had all changed, he’d shown her what true love was, and how special it could be. She was busy giving their quarters a quick spring clean when she sensed her brother nearby.
George had been walking by, when he felt a lightness in his sister's emotions. While he didnt pry into her thoughts, they could always sense what the other was feeling. The earlier sensation of erotica ecstasy, while faint -as their quarters were not close together- had still effected him some. It was the first time, that he could remember, ever feeling such things from his sister.
Feeling her now, he decided to check in on her.
Walking to the door Emily smiled as she opened it and allowed George inside. “Hi there big brother! What brings you over to my neck of the woods?”
As George entered, he gave his little sister a warm hug. "Does a big brother need a reason to come see his sister?" He asked softly after gently kissing her right cheek and pulling back to smile at her.
“Not at all” Emily shook her head giving him a look up and down. “I never did say how brave I think you were after what you went through after you were injured. I was afraid I’d never see you walk again. I’m proud of you.”
George grinned proudly, then playfully puffed out his chest. "They can't keep the Demon down," he joked, referring to himself with his starfighter callsign.
Emily couldn’t help but grin. “Ohh I’m sure Leilani and your family had a lot to do with it too.”
This made George smile even wider, as he looked into his sister's eyes. "You're part of my family too, little sister." He reached out and hugged her again. "I'm able to be who I am with your help too."
“I’ll always be here for you, just as you always are for me” Emily smiled warmly. “If it wasn’t for you I’d still be sitting staring into nothing, you brought me back from the edge of being catatonic for life, and now I’m enjoying living that life.”
George smiled again. Then he gave his sister a conspiratorial look. "So...who are they, this person you are trying to hide in the back of your thoughts?" He chuckled softly as he spoke.
“I thought you knew that one already” Emily grinned. “I’ve been with Zac for a little while now, though you’ve yet to really meet him. No doubt you’ll have seen him aboard ship though.”
George thought about it for a couple beats. "That young security officer?" He asked, thinking he was seeing a vague memory of the man's face.
“Are you telling me you haven’t been checking up on who your little sister has been seeing?” She grinned. “That’s Zac, he’s a wonderful man and he’s a wonderful father to Leana as well.”
A dangerous glint of humor filled George's eyes as a playfully evil grin slowly creapt across his face. "You have warned him not to mistreat you, I hope. Security or not, he harms you, I'll destroy him."
“I know.” Emily nodded. “Zac would never do anything to hurt me George, he truly loves me and I trust him. He’s treated me with nothing but care and respect.”
George reached out again and pulled his sister into a warm embrace. Over their link, he sent images of warmth, happiness and love. Then he is good in my book, Em. It warms my soul to see how happy you are!
Emily returned the feelings, George was her rock he’d protected her all of her life. “Then you’d have no qualms about us getting married at some point?”
This caused him to stop dead in his tracks. "Married? I didn't realize things were that serious." He looked into his sister's eyes and could feel that she was truthful in how she described her feelings for Zac. Finally, he let out a soft breath, then responded. "I'll consider it....after Zac does the proper thing, and comes to me and discuss his intentions towards you."
Emily nodded. “I know, and I think he wants to do just that.” She smiled. “How’s about dinner for all of us? When time allows that is, with all our losses lately I think we could all use some family time.”
The idea made George smile warmly. "I know the kids would love seeing their aunt." He paused a beat as his smile warmed noticeably. "How about this friday...say....eighteen-hundred, our quarters? Leilani has a new crendalo tuber stew recipe that she's been wanting to make."
“Sounds delicious!” Emily nodded enthusiastically. “I’ll bring some Uttaberry wine with me.”
"Good choice!" George replied as he released his hold on his sister and moved to the replicator, ordering two glasses of Altair sparking water. Handing one to Emily, he said, "Now, why don't you invite your big brother to sit and we can talk about this Mister Zac properly." He gave her a playful wink as he finished speaking.
“You could have sat down at any point” Emily grinned. “No need to wait for an invite you know. Now grab a seat and I’ll answer any questions you have.”
Chuckling softly, George sat down on the overstuffed couch next to his sister and leaned in conspiratorially. "Alright...spill. tell me everything i need to know about Zac. What makes him so special that you are positively glowing?"
“What’s so special?” Emily practically grinned from ear to ear. “He’s handsome, caring, loving, he treats me like I’m the only woman in the universe! He’s just…. Amazing!”
George smiled warmly as he felt the love and adoration that he felt flowing out of his sister, as she spoke about Zac. "Well, you definitely deserve to be with someone who treats you that way!" He took a breath, then said, "Tell me more! Have you two been discussing marriage?"
“We’ve been discussing it since he proposed to me last Christmas!” Emily grinned. “We’re not rushing anything, we want to get married but we want to do it right. Zac is a wonderful father to Leana, and she thinks the world of him.”
"He's already treating her as his own, and you teo have only been together for a short time?" George wasn't sure how he felt about that fact. One on hand, Emily had adopted Leana, as did several other crew, when the parents of now-orphaned children had been killed during The Crossing. On the other, the fact that not only his sister, but his new niece seemed to adore Zac....perhaps George could drop his protective stance some.
Looking into Emily's eyes, he said softly, "If the both of you are so sure of him, then who am I to say no to the idea?" He leaned closer, gently touching his forehead to hers. "So long as he keeps doing the right thing, and the both of you are happy and healthy with him in your lives, then you have my blessings."
Thank you big brother Emily smiled the biggest smile yet. “Actually” she switched back to verbal communication. “We wanted to get together with you all for dinner one night, a big family get together. That’s if Leilani would like to of course.”
George sat back and smiled. "I'll ask her, though I'm sure she would love to." He paused a beat, then added gently. "Aviana has been having difficulty sleeping through the night, so, with everything else, Lei hasn't been getting much sleep." A guilty look crossed his face as he added, "For the past month, I've been having to sleep down in my office, what with the battles and our former wing commander taking his own life." He sighed and shook his head. "I feel like I've been letting Leilani and the kids down, not being there for them through this whole situation with the Galatonians."
“I don’t think Lei would blame you for that” Emily added with a caring glance. “We’ve all had to do whatever it takes to get through these attacks, having family onboard just makes that more complicated. You were doing what you had to do to protect all of us.”
George nodded, though he still felt a pang of guilt about the whole situation. Taking in a cleansing breath, he added, "Well, hopefully that is now all behind us. I miss sleeping in my bed with my wife beside me."
“I’ve no doubt she feels the same about you” Emily grinned. “I’d be lost without you too big brother.”
George chuckled softly. The two siblings then embraced again, sending images of love and devotion to one another over their bond.
