CONTENT WARNING: some violence during interrogation

While the guards were arresting the new prisoners, Kevar slipped away to go get his nose repaired. Naxea threw a hell of an elbow, but it was worth it to see the look of anger and betrayal on her face. The medic fixed him up, and he took a damp towel to clean the blood off his face before heading for the interrogation rooms, hearing that Naxea had been processed quickly.

Seemed to be a habit with the more resistant ones.

Inside, he saw two guards dragging an unconscious Naxea over to the wall that had numerous slots in it, a third trailing behind. He went for the table to read the datapad as the guards attached the restraints and fitted them into the slots. Once they were fitted, a bolt inside the wall slid into place to secure the restraints just above her head. It was an archaic method that had long since been replaced by electromagnetic technology, but he found it proved just as effective. It was also satisfying to hear that resounding slide of metal slotting into place. For good measure, the guards also secured her ankles so she couldn't kick out at anyone.

Kevar watched the guards leave, accepting the hypospray given to him to wake her. He observed her slumped form for a few seconds before approaching and pressing the hypospray to her neck. The stimulant necessary to wake her deployed into her system with a quiet hiss, and then he stepped back and waited.

Naxea let out a soft moan as consciousness reclaimed her. She quickly felt her arms pulled above her head. She tried to move her legs and found them to be restrained as she blinked several times to clear her vision . Looking around, she could now see that she had been restrained and was still dressed in her swimsuit, though it had torn in a few spots from the struggle. She then spotted Kevar in the room, watching her. "Why have you kidnapped me?" she demanded.

Kevar tsked as he lightly tapped the hypospray against his palm. "What a harsh word," he thought aloud. He turned his head a little when the door opened and a female guard entered, finding a spot to stand at rest against the wall. "As my colleagues in that alley said, we're running an investigation. I'll admit, you were quick to catch on, but it seems a little... naive to trust someone you only just met. I thought a marine would know better." He then gave her a smile that, under normal circumstances, might have been passable as charming.

"Let me go and I'll give you a personal demonstration of a Starfleet Marine," she seethed. "But like before, after I smashed your face, you'll just run away. You're not a fighter. You're a coward. I only hope you live long enough to see what my Detachment and the Elysium are going to do to you and your planet when they find out what you've done," she chuckled.

Kevar couldn't help but chuckle as well, though it was the kind of amusement that recognised the irony of fighting words in a powerless situation. He raised his hands in mock surrender, "you got me there. I'm more of a talker than a fighter. But, I think my colleague more than makes up for my... shortcomings. If you'd demonstrate, Lieutenant?"

Without a word, the female guard approached. When she got close enough, her hands curled into fists. One strike drove into Naxea's abdomen, then another, then a third punch went across the face.

The punches stung, yet she only Naxea grinned. She had plenty of sparring sessions with Gami over the years. "Is that as hard as you can hit?" she teased.

Kevar let another huff of amusement escape him as he watched the guard get slightly flustered at the prisoner's words. "Feisty." He took the chair in the room and spun it around so he could sit and rest his arms across the back. "It's not an investigation without questions. It's in your best interest to answer them. Honest answers, preferably." He waved his hand dismissively. "Don't worry, all the information the guards said is true. Dosivi was arrested for treason. He did bring illegal Kavai assets to our world. Maybe we'll start simple: like when your vessel last interacted with the Kavai?"

"I don't know these who these Kovi are but it's in your best interest to let me and the others go," she replied.

The guard, Melea, caught the glance from Kevar before she approached Naxea again with resolve. Sama chose her from hundreds of royal guard applicants, she wasn’t about to let some prisoner make a fool of her. Just a punching bag, that's all this is, she reminded herself as she drove her fists into Naxea's abdomen again. She made sure to throw in a couple solid hits across the face too, before a clearing of the throat cued her to stop and back off.

Naxea grunted. The punches hurt as she tasted blood in her mouth. She relieved the blood by spitting it on the guard. "If that's all you got, I'd run and hide once my ship finds out what happened. There's Marines on board that will toss you around like a rag doll," she chuckled, hiding the pain in her abdomen.

In a rather obvious show of inexperience, Melea's mouth opened slightly with disgust as the spit stuck to her uniform. She looked to Kevar with a look that silently asked if he saw that.

What was it with him being paired with the new recruits? Kevar rolled his eyes. "By Thilia, are all of you recruits incompetent? It's just spit. She broke my nose and you don't see me bitching about it." Before she could speak, he jerked his head toward the door. "No, you're done. Get out." When she opened her mouth to protest, Kevar gave Melea a stern look that said to not talk back.

When she finally left, he turned his attention back to his prisoner. "You could have at least boosted her ego a little," he joked with a little smirk, but his amusement soon faded with the shrug of his shoulders. "Oh well. She's, frankly, wasted potential."

"And you're a waste of oxygen," Naxea insulted as she glared at him. Her face and ass still hurt but she wasn't going to let it show.

With a disappointed sigh, Kevar pushed himself up out of the chair and strode over to the table to look through the various tools. "The traitor admitted to collaborating with the Kavai." Settling on a short bat that was normally used for the sport of davi paya, he inspected it as he returned to Naxea. "You said he fought in your department, which means he probably disclosed information to you. So, what did he tell you about the Kavai?"

"Nothing, as I said before. But they have to be a far better species than you and your kind," she retorted.

Hopefully he still had his swinging technique from when he played the sport in school. With a little flaired spin of the bat, Kevar secured his grip with one hand and swung, landing it solidly against her side. With her arms secured above her, it gave him good access to her ribs.

The blow sent a jolt of pain the shot through her entire body as she cried out. It was painful to breathe as her chest heaved with exertion.

"I suggest a real answer instead of continued sass," Kevar replied, bringing the bat behind him and holding it with a hand on either end. In a way, it made him look like a strict teacher waiting with a ruler, ready to slap a student's hands for disobedience. "Otherwise this will continue for quite some time."

"I gave you a real answer," she said through gritted teeth, "Don't blame me...if you're not smart enough to understand it "

In Kevar's profession, it helped to have a thick skin. "We take treason seriously, Nassea." Thanks to the lack of 'x' sound in the Lonian language, her name was almost hissed instead of spoken. "What are his intentions with the half-breed?"

"I don't...know,. We're not...that close," she replied through labored breathing. "But what I do know... is that half breed is a better person than you will ever be."

"Please, that abomination is nothing more than a Kavai tool to infiltrate Lonian society." Kevar lightly tapped the bat against his palm, still otherwise resting behind him.

"The only abomination...is you and your...pathetic society. So scared...of a teenage girl." Her chest heaved heavily with each breath as her restraints kept her upright.

Kevar gave a little smirk. He was clearly amused by her comebacks and attempts to agitate him. "The child isn't the threat. The Kavai are. Your vessel helped Dosivi bring that thing here, which makes your people accomplices to treason. Just tell us what we want to know, and I might be able to reduce your sentence."

Naxea chuckled despite the pain that shot through her upper body. "Pathetic excuse to tell yourself for being scared of a teenage girl who has done nothing to you or your pathetic society. I told you all I knew. and the Kavai will be the least of your problems when the Elysium locates us. And they will."

"I'll be the judge of that," he said as he moved towards Naxea with club in hand
